Built for finishing
Some children do better with a clear path and a guaranteed end point. This series was built with that in mind.
Meet the detectives
Alice and Mia are on the case. Each book follows them through a new mystery at Silver Wing Detective Academy, story pages first, then the code that cracks it open.
How it works
02 · Code
Crack the clue.
A substitution cipher, with the key included, reveals the next message.
03 · Completion
Finish the case.
Complete the mission, earn the badge and move the story forward.
The decoded message isn't just an answer. It is the next piece of the story.
Where it started
Silver Wing Detective Academy began with one reader who loved codes and couldn't find enough of them anywhere. So a book was made, full of them.

Through the Paper Floats Studio, we collaborate with schools, museums and organisations to create books and activities around a particular audience, place, subject or need.
Schools & Educators
Resources designed around particular pupils, classes or learning goals.
Specialist Settings
Activities designed around how particular children engage, rather than adapting something afterwards.
Museums
Story-led trails, books and activities that turn collections and places into investigations.
